Here are some special things I added to make the domino topple lot more intresting.


This is the spiral stair case I made. I used 1/2" ply wood. I made a bunch or rings using a hole saw and a bandsaw. I first cut out a square peice. I then drilled a hole in the center, next I made a jig so the hole would fit on the jig I made so I could cut them out exactlly round on the bandsaw. I then divided each ring into three equal parts. Making three cuts on the bandsaw I got three equal parts from one ring. I then proceeded to clue and pin each section together leaving enough room for a domino on each step to lean so it can fall and hit the next on on the next step. As I went up, I needed to ad a foot or block to hold up the staircase. I also made a slid out of laminate for a domino to slid down the slid and onto the next section on the table or floor. The slide hooks into the top of the spirial staircase. See YouTube video for a demo on the spirial stair case. Just make sure if you have dominoes around the staircase that they fall first as some of the dominoes will fall from the staircase onto the floor. And if there are rows of standing dominoes, the ones falling might hit those before they were planned to fall. Again see YouTube video for demostration.

This is a Mario design. You take lots of dominoes and make a picture out of it. It you have dominoes with two colors you can almost hid your design until it falls or have two designs. One design would be a picture of one thing when the dominoes are stading up and another picture when they fall. I have not done this yet. I only have dominoes that are black on one side and 4 edges and are white on one side. This is a neat affect too. It also depends on what angle you view the design...


This is the seven foot step I did. I figured the angle so it could rest on a table. Some tables are different heights, so you have to make sure that the steps are level. The two pictures shows after they dominoes fell. I got to the bottom and I knocked it over so just went ahead and took the picture. The picture below show how tall the step is. The height of an average door.This step is shown in the YouTube video. I used this 7 foot step in both the second and third domino topple.
